Death of Democracy in the Western World

We are all Cristeros!

Last night, March 9, 2013, the French Senate voted yes on the “Marriage for All” law.
Does it affect you in any way? Of course it does.

The majority of French people is against this; maybe up to 2 million people took to the streets of Paris in a mind-blowing protest! The government declared the demonstration didn’t change anything.

French president Hollande said, “This law was a campaign promise!”

As though any campaign promise has ever been kept.

The crumbling of our society began with the systematic separation of the sexual act from the procreation of babies: the pill, easy divorce, promotion of promiscuity and immoral sexual behaviors, abortion, and so on. It’s probably not the only reason, but think about it…
The Catholic Church alone held her ground, and is still holding firm, proclaiming the unchanging Truth. In short, you can’t separate the unitive and the procreative aspects of the conjugal union. You can try, obviously, but the only result is chaos!
We could write several volumes on the topic and ensuing consequences for each of us and society as a whole.
Unfortunately, we have no time to read more than a paragraph, since we all suffer from ADD.

Reminder: “To tell the truth, the Church is not surprised to be made, like her divine Founder, a “sign of contradiction”, yet she does not because of this cease to proclaim with humble firmness the entire moral law, both natural and evangelical.” Humanae Vitae, 18.

When I read the French news this morning about “marriage for all,” I didn’t feel very uplifted. I was pretty upset with both the US and French governments for pushing so hard for something that most of us are rejecting.
My low spirits lasted only until I read the daily Mass readings, and then Wow!
First reading; Acts 5:17-26. “We found the jail securely locked and the guards stationed outside the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside.”… Then someone came in and reported to them: “The men (apostles) whom you put in prison are in the temple area and are teaching the people.”
Psalm 34; “When the poor one called out, the Lord heard, and from all his distress he saved him.”
Gospel; John 3:16-21. “God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.”

Our God is an awesome God. We have to live, embrace our Faith with all our heart, all our mind and all our strength, and love our neighbor as ourselves.
We will never give up Hope, or surrender. In the final battle, we are all Cristeros!
