How Does the Online Marriage Prep Course Work?
Christmas Day is right around the corner. For many of us, it’ll be quieter and smaller than normal, but the beauty of the Church’s feasts is that they’re fundamentally the same in gatherings of one or one hundred and in America, China, or anywhere you may find yourself.
For most Catholics, Lent 2020 has been a Lent like no other. We have found ourselves giving up things we never thought of giving up, due to forced quarantines, lock-downs, lay-offs, and perhaps for many of our Catholic Marriage Prep couples, even wedding dates and receptions. The global pandemic, and our response to it, has made us reflect on our own mortality, our faith, and our priorities in life.
Let’s file this under “things I never thought I’d have to write about.”
Dear Ron,
We married in August 1999, both aged 20, we dated two years before marriage. Tom is a cradle Catholic, Anna raised Lutheran. Not much premarital counseling due to our mixed faith marriage. In year five of marriage, we vacationed with Anna's two girlfriends to Maui. At the time, they were both single. We brought our 15-month-old with us.
There is beautiful scene from the film Captain Corelli’s Mandolin where the father of the leading lady offers her some tender but challenging advice on measuring authentic love: He says; ‘Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision.

Wow!!! Yes, that is the correct word to begin this blog post! I think I am still in shock! On the feast of the Sacred Heart of Jesus our country just experienced the overturning of an almost 50-year-old law regarding abortion. Roe vs. Wade was overturned!
