Nov. 25th – Name – Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, TX “Taking these courses definitely comforted my desire to get closer to God”

Him: I did not know what to expect coming into these marriage prep courses while I was in RCIA. But these courses were so relatable and I applied them to mine and Cristine's relationship. We became closer as we went through the questions and discussions together. The discussions were sometimes hard but definitely saw the importance of communication.

Her: The marriage prep courses were great; it made us stop and discuss these hard to have conversations. But in the end being transparent and learning about ourselves as a couple will set us up for success as a married couple.

Both: The courses definitely brought out topics we have not discussed in depth before. The courses definitely opened up our communication so we were able to have these conversations and realize we love each other on another level; by knowing we are on the same path and have the same plans for our future. 

Nov. 26th – Hayden and Ilani – Archdiocese of Denver, CO “This exceeded my expectations because of how detailed in depth all of the explanations were”

Him: I saw real growth in both of us in terms of our communication and openness to talk about everything marriage related, both during marriage preparation and now after. We felt like we had talked about everything but this really opened up the topics we needed to discuss and grow in. We enjoyed our instructors detailed feedback that included scripture, church’s teachings, theology of the body and their care for us through this course.

Her: I am satisfied with the conversations that this course sparked for us and the topics we were able to continue discussing. It led us through some tough conversations but has also allowed us to open a new level of kindness, love and care for each other. We both grew in our faith and in the desire to keep God at the center of our relationship.

Both: This course helped us to talk about what the structure of our marriage would be. We both understand we want a God centered marriage, but were able to really break down what that looked like throughout this course. It helped us to be vulnerable and completely honest with each other.

Nov. 27th – Thomas and Kristina – Diocese of Camden, NJ “The course provided an opportunity to grow closer to God and my husband”

Him: I found this course a comfort to know that with Christ at the center of our marriage, we will always have his support. The detailed course information ignited my passion for my faith by making me want to seek out new ways of putting God at the center of our marriage while practicing our Catholic faith.

Her: I felt that the course inspired me to live a Christ centered life and share our faith with family.

Both: The course enabled us to put aside time to communicate together as a couple to deepen our Christ based marriage.

Nov. 28th – Robert and Valerie (Civilly Married) – Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, TX “I appreciated the genuineness of the teaching from our instructors”

Him: The course revived my desire to get closer to God and his Church. In particular, it renewed my interest in becoming a good standing member of his Church.

Her: We spent a lot of time talking about things we’ve never talked about before, so it was very useful and enjoyable.

Both: The course helped us re-examine our relationship, as we’ve been civilly married for a long time. It brought us a better understanding of the role God is to play in our marriage.

Nov. 29th – Devon and Nicole – Archdiocese of San Francisco, CA “I feel like it gave me a lot of comfort and understanding of the Church”

Him:  I thoroughly enjoyed this course and really appreciated Lori and Will’s insight and input. I really feel like I’ve gotten so much out of this.

Her: LOVED this course. I think it really taught me a lot more about the church’s teachings, expanded my faith, and gave me a lot to think about. I’m so grateful for the course. I think it was the perfect length, and our instructors put so much love and energy into their responses which gave us SOOO much to mull over, and I’m so grateful for them!!

Both: This course helped us expand our mental and spiritual horizons and expand our conceptions of the sacrament of matrimony. It allowed us to talk through exercises, learn more about each other, and brought some great questions for us to discuss. It gave us tools for when complications arise.
