Both: It forced us to address any issues we may have had in our communication and gave us ways to make solutions.
October 29th Kene and Esther – Atlanta, GA
“I enjoyed the fact that we could ask further questions if anything in the answer keys were not understood.”
Him: I appreciated the fact that there was no right or wrong answer. You were just encouraged to explore your thoughts, discuss them and put them down.
Her: The course forced us to be reflective and really think about why we are doing this.
Both: We also really appreciated our instructor’s dedication to helping us complete this.

August 20th Andrew and Fiorella – Arlington, VA“[I appreciated] The love letters because I was able to tell him how I feel when sometimes I cannot do that through words!”
Him:This prep was exactly what we needed. There are so many different pieces to a marriage and often times we overlook the smallest ones that can have the biggest impact. So we were grateful to have gone through this task together.
Her: I was able to connect back to when I was younger and went through Baptism and Confession and attending mass every Sunday. Now I can see how important that was to this day!
Both:Our communication has improved but was already good. The active listening portion was a good example of helping us to learn something new.
August 21st Trent and Ally – Denver, CO “I appreciate the time we got to spend together talking about our faith.”
Him:My impression was skeptical going into the prep but after doing all the prep work it really opened my eyes to a lot of things. Some things I haven't thought about or given enough thought to. I enjoyed the training and it has benefited our preparation for marriage and will make us a better couple. I have always felt I had a strong relationship with God, but as I went through the course and talked with close friends, I have realized I have a long way to go and I need to continue to develop my relationship with God. It has ignited a fire in me to keep God always at the front of my head and heart and to be a stronger godly man to lead my household faithfully.
Her:It exceeded my expectations. A lot of very informative and helpful knowledge – [our instructors] really put a lot of effort into their answers and the work that went into preparing this course was done a lot of thought and care. I have always had a deeper knowledge of my faith than my peers, but I think this revived it and brought it back to the surface. It went deeper into areas that I wasn't as strong in, as well.
Both:We were able to freely express ourselves and feelings about a subject, and communicate through this by asking each other questions to fully understand each other’s thought process.
July 2nd Sean and Cindy – Stockton, CA“It reminds me of what it felt like to have that faith and be closer to God again.”
Him:I thought this course was very informative and did a good job of bringing my wife and I closer by opening lines of communication that we didn’t have before. The information about NFP I had never even heard of it before this course and I find it very informative and plan on looking more into this.
Her: It helps us get to know more about each other by talking about our point of views of the topics that was brought up. We got to start planning on a lot of things like goals and how-to's that we never thought of before. We got to think of things we didn’t get to focus prior this class.
Both:[It helped us] By giving us some tough situations to think about and talk about it has opened a new line of dialog and increased our communication skills.
July 3rd Michael and Monica – Denver, CO “I realized some areas that I can do better and work on my relationship with God.”
Him:The class was rewarding in ways I didn’t expect. I think Monica and I had a lot of good conversations from the course content and we learned a bit more about ourselves and each other in the process. I wasn’t sure what to expect starting out, but I felt it was overall a good experience.
Her:Surprisingly, I enjoyed the course. It did a lot of time and work but I think the questions and assignments made a lot of sense. It was nice how everything tied together. I guess I wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised by the conversations that it sparked and how we were able to share and grow together.
Both:[Did the course improve your communication?] Yes. as we have included in our answers above we do believe our communication has improved from this course. We have some great conversations, learned some new tools and grew closer through this. I believe the course forced us to take inventory of our current practice and relationship with God. Although there is a lot more we can do to be involved in our church community, I felt that our beliefs are pretty aligned with the Church which was refreshing.
